SIMPLE FORM(ATION)S
DeYoung Museum (San Francisco, USA)2017
Izidora l LETHE activates her sculptural work Commonality (Simple Form) in this performance through a score that is performed by eleven artists for one hour in 10-minute increments. SIMPLE FORM(ATION)S brings in the exhibition neglected modalities of subversion - both formal and political - of 1968 back to its front lines; The power of a subverted and 'polluted' (post-)minimalism, as well as (a different) “politics of love”. Both of those brought tremendous changes to our understandings of culture production, notions of self and political strategies today.
