It is sense-ual knowledge of the body, or embodied knowledge, from where LETHE respectively departs in their works. LETHE considers such as
the place of production and repository of overlooked intelligence.
For the exhibition at Helmhaus Zurich, LETHE conceptualizes and produces
a new work which makes room for sensuality and the opening in its widest sense.
LETHE’s work embodies and gives porosity to the newly renovated
exhibition space.
Each of the 53 porcelain sculptures look alike and yet are entirely different.
The part of each sculpture, that is inserted into the wall and hence
cannot be seen by the viewers’ eye, shimmers in an orange tone – a glow
that acts in the wall itself.
After the exhibition, when the openings are spackled for upcoming exhibitions, the gesture of (partial) permeability remains. As such, structures and surfaces that are
believed to be solid, are expanded – a simple poetry with apolitical resonancy.
Das sinnliche (Bewusst-)Sein des Körpers oder embodied knowledge ist jeweils
der Ausgangspunkt, den LETHE als Ort der Produktion und Speicherung
von übersehenem Wissen versteht.
Für die Ausstellung im Helmhaus, ZH konzipiert und produziert LETHE eine neue Arbeit, welche der Sinnlichkeit des Atems und der Öffnung im weitesten Sinne
Raum schafft. LETHES Arbeit verleib/ht den Wänden des neu renovierten Ausstellungsraumes eine Porosität.
Jedes der 53 Porzellanskulpturen ähneln sich und sind jedoch komplett verschieden. Der Teil der Wandskulptur, welcher in die Wand eingeführt wird und vom Auge nicht erschlossen wird, schimmert Orange – ein Leuchten, welches in der Wand selbst wirkt.
Nach der Ausstellung, wenn die Öffnungen für kommende Ausstellungen zugespachtelt werden, bleibt die Geste der (partiellen) Durchlässigkeit zurück. Somit werden solid geglaubte Strukturen und Oberflächen ausgeweitet - eine simple Poesie mit politischer Resonanz.
